Mrs. Janet Sauter
Mrs. Janet Sauter began her teaching career at Holy Name after graduating from Wayne State College in 1974 and has been on the faculty ever since. She is currently teaching our third graders. After a few years in the classroom, Mrs. Sauter continued her education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha earning a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1980.
Over the years, Mrs. Sauter has been open and eager to grow as a professional by attending numerous workshops and seminars offered throughout our community and country. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Nebraska Reading Association.
Mrs. Sauter was recognized as Archdiocesan Teacher of the year in 2000 and also was chosen to receive the 2006 National Catholic Education Association Distinguished Graduate Award from St. Pius X/ St. Leo School.
A product of Catholic education herself since graduating from St. Pius X and Marian High School, Mrs. Sauter believes that Catholic schools, with their attention to developing the whole person, are preparing today’s children to tackle tomorrow’s world with empathy and wisdom. This begins in her classroom where respect and responsibility are the cornerstones of her teaching beliefs.
With two grown children and the youngest attending Creighton University, Mrs. Sauter and her husband, Terry, are once again enjoying the peace and quiet of daily life!
